Custom made lifting chains are recommended so the pump is lifted from a single point. This means that the pump remains vertical at
all times, and is not lifted on an angle, which can happen on site if only one of the lifting points is used. By keeping the pump vertical
oil is kept in the correct areas to allow maximum lubrication and heat dissipation, maximizing bearing life and motor cooling.
The chains unit is supplied with two shackles to couple it directly to the Goodwin pump.
2.2 Tonnes (standard working load)
Leg Lengths 600mm
Master Links to fit 5 Tonne Lift Hook
As it is a submersible pump the shackles and chain unit come in a galvanized finish to minimize corrosion and maximize working life.
Goodwin Part No: G355/2-10Z-SA0
For lifting the slurry pump when it is in operation we recommend that a hoist with a rating of 1.5 tonnes is used. This is because when the pump is connected into a system the chain it is hanging on will also bear the weight of the pipe work and all the slurry it contains.
Additionally if the pump is positioned in a sump with settled slurry – from our experience 1.5 tonnes is usually sufficient to break the pump free of the settled slurry.
